As the coronavirus continue to spread, the Commissioner for Health Lagos State Prof Akin Abayomi, on Friday is estimating 120,000 cases across the state by July, August.
The commissioner said with the current trend, COVID-19 cases in Lagos was expected to reach its peak by that period.
Lagos state has expanded its daily testing capacity to flatten the curve. Samples and testing are carried out across the 20 Local Government areas of the state and this has also led to an abrupt increase of cases in the State.
The commissioner of Health also stated that if the government had not controlled the situation in time, Lagos would have by now recorded 6,000 cases.
Lagos State presently has 1,491 confirmed Coronavirus cases.
