FG Launches N100bn Intervention Fund For Private Schools

As part of the efforts to alleviate the havocs caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Federal Government has launched a N100 billion intervention fund for private school teachers.

The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba who disclosed this during a Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 daily briefing in Abuja, on Monday noted that private school teachers are eligible to access the COVID-19 fund.

He said the Federal Government will ensure proper engagement with private school teachers to access the N100 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

“We have forwarded the requests that they made to the CBN and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, because for us, they are part of the provision the Federal Government has made in relation to SMEs.

“They are the intellectual powerbase of the country,” Nwajiuba said.
