Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday berated the Department of State Services, DSS, for inviting Mailafia Obadiah, former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, over his revelation on Boko Haram.
Obadiah, a former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has revealed that Boko Haram insurgents are plotting to cause a civil war in Nigeria in 2022.
He also alleged that the terrorist group already has its members in the southern part of the country in preparation for the execution of their plans.
Obadiah said the terrorists’ plot was disclosed to him by a repentant Boko Haram Commander, who had also told him that a Northern governor was heading the group.
Following his revelation, the DSS had invited the former presidential candidate for questioning.
Reacting, Omokri said Obadiah was the wrong person to invite for questioning.
In a tweet, the former presidential aide said the DSS should have invited the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai who once admitted paying killers to stop the attacks in his state.
“Why would DSS invite Obadiah Mailafia? @Elrufai admitted on TV that he paid herdsmen not to kill in S Kaduna (they are still killing).
“If DSS wants to know the identity of killer herdsmen, they should invite El-Rufai to tell them the identity of those he paid!,” he tweeted.
Recall that ; The Department of State Services (DSS), invited a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and stakeholder in Southern Kaduna, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, to its Jos office over the comment he made recently about a Northern governor being the commander of Boko Haram.
Newsmen had reported that Obadiah in an interview with an Abuja based radio station, NigeriaInfo FM on Monday, August 10, alleged that some repentant bandits revealed that a serving governor in one of the Northern states is the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria.
”Let me make some revelations because some of us also have our own intelligence network. We have met with some of the bandits; we have met with some of their high commanders, one or two who have repented. They have sat down with us, not once, not twice. They told us that one of the Northern governors is the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria.”
The DSS saw his interview and has invited him to their office for questioning. He is expected to appear before the service officials on Wednesday, August 12 by 12 noon.
