Many rooms have been destroyed after fire gutted the Kano State College of Nursing and Midwifery.
According to The PUNCH, no fewer than 16 rooms at the students’ hostel of the Kano State College of Nursing and Midwifery was gutted by fire.
The fire was said to have started during the Muslim evening prayer at about 6.20 pm on Wednesday on the third floor of Sa’idu Fagge hostel.
It was gathered that the fire started from a toilet.
A source at the college told The PUNCH that the fire raged for over one hour before the arrival of the Kano Fire servicemen.
When contacted, the spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Sai’du Muhammad, confirmed the incident.
He said investigation had commenced with a view to finding out the cause of the fire and extent of the damage.
