2021 Budget: Senator Kalu attends Budget defence meetings,charges ministers on prudency

In line with the on-going 2021 budget defence of various Federal ministries and parastatals, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Tuesday attended the Senate committee meetings, which had in attendance several Ministers and directors of the aforementioned Federal agencies.

The committees attended by Senator Kalu include; committee on water resources chaired by Senator Mandiya Bello, Committee on National planning and Economic Affairs chaired by Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi, Committee on works chaired by Senator Adamu Aliero and Committee on Foreign Affair chaired by Senator Mohammed Bulkachuwa.

The first point of call for Senator Kalu was the committee meeting on National planning and economic affairs; dressed in resplendent White traditional attire known as “Agbada”;Senator Kalu made his entrance into the meeting room which already had in attendance the: Hon.Minister for Finance,Budget and National Planning;Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed,the Honourable Minister of State, Budget and National Planning; Prince Clem Ikanade.

Next for Senator Kalu was the committee meeting on water resources; the Chief Whip made his entrance in company of the minister for water resources Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu and the Chairman Senate committee resources, Senator Mandiya Bello.
Already seated at the meeting were other members of the committee they were: Senator Sam Egwu, Sani Mohammed Musa among other Senators.

Others attended by Senator Kalu were the committees on works and foreign affairs which also had in attendance their supervisory ministers.

At the meetings Senator Kalu being a member of the various committees charged the ministers on efficiency, transparency and prudence, he reiterated the support of the Senate to ensure that their agencies would receive the required attention for maximal performance to the benefit of all Nigerians.
