Former Chairman of the Federal Internal Revenue Service, FIRS, Babatunde Fowler, on Monday appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for further questioning.
It was reported that Fowler was present at the Lagos State office of the commission over FIRS’s involvement in alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure.
There were allegations that the sum of N9.2bn from Lagos Inland Revenue Service and Alpha Beta was traced to Fowler’s personal account.
Few weeks ago EFCC invited Fowler for questioning over a N5bn fraud perpetrated in the agency which in office.
The anti-graft agency had earlier detained nine senior officials of the agency over alleged multi-billion naira fraud in 2019
