United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, says the terrorists that perpetrated the Borno massacre on Saturday must be held accountable.
His comment was in reaction to the murder of 43 Zabarmari farmers.
They were attacked at Koshebe village in Mafa Local Government Area and buried on Sunday.
Guterres condemned the gruesome killing and abduction in the strongest terms.
The UN chief extended his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and Nigerians.
He wished the injured a swift recovery and called for the immediate and safe return of the captives.
Guterres expressed hope that “those responsible for these heinous crimes will be quickly brought to justice”.
The top diplomat reaffirmed UN commitment to support Nigeria in its fight against terrorism, violent extremism and response to humanitarian needs.
