Senator Kalu attends PIB hearing,screens NDIC,AMCON MD nominees

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor on Monday participated in the opening of the 2 day hearing of the Petroleum Industry Bill. The hearing which was declared open by the President of the Senate , Ahmed Lawan was organized by the Senate Joint committee on Petroleum Sector ; (Downstream) , Petroleum resources (upstream) and Gas .

The public hearing was facilitated to consider a Bill for an Act to Provide Legal, Governance, Regulatory and Fiscal Framework for the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, the Development of Host Communities and For Related Matters, 2020 (SB. 510) otherwise known as the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

Shortly after Senator Kalu proceeded to attend the screening exercise for the nominees for the Managing Director Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and the Managing Director and Executive Director Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) organised by the Senate Committee on Banking.

The meeting had in attendance Chairman of the committee Senator Uba Sani, Senator Betty Apiafi, Senator Umar Sadiq, Muhammad Bima Enagi, Senator Onyewuchi Francis, Senator Istifanus Gyang, Senator Bello Mandiya, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, and others.
