Popular Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju, has reacted after it was announced that there were plans to for the Twitter ban to be lifted.
Adeyanju said President Muhammdu Buhari and his aides were eager to return to Twitter as they are tired of other social media platforms.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had a few months ago announced the ban on Twitter.
Mohammed had said the operation of Twitter was banned in Nigeria due to the negative use of the platform.
The minister had said some Nigerians were using the site for activities that are inimical to the unity of Nigeria.
But, on Wednesday he informed that the ban will be lifted in a few days.
However, Adeyanju advised the President and his aides should remain on the KOO platform.
In a tweet, Adeyanju wrote: “Buhari is tired of KOO, wants to come back to Twitter urgently which is why they are looking for ways to suspend Twitter ban in Nigeria. We don’t want him and his clueless aides back on this app. KOO is where they belong permanently.”
