The corpse of a farmer has been found with machete cuts on his body in Ondo state.
The farmer was suspected to have been killed by suspected a herder following the discovery of an injured cow at the scene of the incident.
The incident occurred in Ajowa-Akoko, Akoko North West Local Government Area of the State.
The lifeless body of the farmer was found in the farm at the forest near Ajowa farm settlement by policemen.
With the suspected mannered at which the farmer was killed, it was alleged that the situation might be a case of a confrontation between the deceased farmer and unknown herder whose cow was also injured at the farm.
With the incident creating tension in the community, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, for Okeagbe-Akoko, Unnah Paulinus said that investigation has began into the incident.
He also disclosed that the corpse had already been deposited at a government’s hospital in Ikare Akoko.
Meanwhile, residents of the community decried that manner at which herders had been disregarding the anti-open grazing law in the state.
They, however, called on the state government to ensure the total enforcement of the law in the community.
