South-East Governors have revealed they are working out a plan to find a political solution concerning Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
They added that they are to meet President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the detention and trial of Nnamdi Kanu.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader is currenlty in Department of State Services (DSS) custody and faces charges bordering on treason.
On Thursday, the South East Governors’ Forum announced plans to meet the President within a short period from now.
The Chairman and Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi made the disclosure in a statement.
Umahi thanked Ohanaeze Ndigbo for a good job done, through their committees, in raising solutions towards addressing issues raised by agitators.
“Governors are studying their reports and very soon, we will be meeting with the Federal Government of Nigeria on these issues, including deploying political solutions in the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu which we have already initiated”, he said.
On the Anambra election, the Forum pleaded with security agencies deployed to secure the lives of the people and play within the rules of engagement.
