NRC Suspends Abuja-Kaduna Train Services After Train Was Attacked by Terrorists

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced it will be suspending its operations following yesterday’s attack by terrorists.

NRC said it has temporarily suspended its service along the Abuja-Kaduna route due to unforeseen circumstances.

It made this announcement on Tuesday morning.

Recall that the Kaduna-bound train with an unspecified number of passengers on board was on Monday night attacked by terrorists.

Many passengers were injured.

The gunmen were said to have blown up the rail track, forcing the 1000-capacity train to derail around Rijana, a village on the rail corridor in Kaduna.

NRC, in a terse statement via its official Twitter page on Tuesday, said: “Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended.

“Further Communication would be given in due course.”
