The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed displeasure over the attitude of some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The former Abia state governor stated this when he received some leaders of the party at Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation House, Abuja on Tuesday, urging leaders of the APC to be fair to President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, some of the leaders of the party were already betraying the president while he is on seat, noting that they’d do worse if not addressed when he leaves.
“It is unfortunate that some leaders of our party are already showing signs of what they would do when President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office. They are already betraying him judging by their actions and utterances.
“We have challenges, no doubt, but we should be fair in assessing the president. Criticizing him openly is like boosting the morale of the opposition. Let’s give him credit where he has done well.”
On the crisis rocking the Abia State Chapter of the party, he said, “There is a peace initiative ongoing. We are going to come out stronger as a united party. APC is a democratic party, we shall continue to uphold the tenets of democracy,” he said.
