A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jimoh Babafemi says presidential aspirants and their supporters that contested and lost the party’s ticket to Bola Ahmed Tinubu have gone cold except those that campaigned for Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

Babafemi in chat with journalists on Saturday in Lagos expressed displeasure over the attitudes of some party chieftains who are still not happy with Tinubu’s emergence at the presidential primary.

He commended Senate President Ahmad Lawan and his supporters which included the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Governor Hope Uzodinma, Senator Sani Musa, Senator Jubril Barau, Femi Fani-Kayode and others for their efforts in campaigning and mobilizing for Tinubu.

“Ahmad Lawan and his supporters including Hope Uzodinma, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Barau Jubril, Senator Sani Musa and Fani Kayode are working hard for Tinubu and the APC like they are doing it for Lawan. These people are patriotic chieftains of the APC. Others have suddenly gone cold after losing the primary. They are non committal to the presidential ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The current Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige on national television even refused to openly endorse Tinubu. We have not heard from Amaechi’s people, Osinbajo’s team and so many others. They suddenly went cold without doing much. I sincerely commend Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan and his Group for showing and proving to be solid party chieftains by spearheading the campaign of Bola Ahmed Tinubu across Nigeria.”

On the 2023 presidential election, Babafemi said the APC would record a landslide victory, judging by Tinubu’s accomplishments and leadership capacity.

Babafemi said that the massive support being enjoyed by the party was a pointer to its victory in the 2023 general election.

He said that the presidential candidate of the party Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has track records of unprecedented accomplishments during his days as Lagos State governor to show for his bid to succeed President Muhamadu Buhari.

He said that Tinubu was the most acceptable among the Presidential candidates for 2023 because he has built bridges across the country’s geo-political zones as well as buiding people.

“Tinubu has built an empire out of many Nigerians who crossed paths with him ever since his foray into public office and these accomplishments would count for him in 2023.

“He has paid his dues as a democrat and leader. Tinubu is running against Tinubu because these Nigerians and many others who believe in his vision for a better Nigeria, are today mostly his foot soldiers, campaigning for him across the federation,” Babafemi said.
