Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has claimed that Morocco lost to France because of President Muhammadu Buhari’s congratulatory message to the country.

Recall that Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu congratulated the Moroccan national football team, for ousting the Portuguese national team thereby advancing to the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He also stated the Atlas Lions were capable of winning the tournament.

Before Morocco’s match against France, the former presidential aide, argued Buhari had no business congratulating Morocco.

Omokri insinuated the congratulatory message from Buhari could have adverse effect on the African team.

Following the abortion of Morocco’s dream from moving to the finals after suffering a great defeat from France, Tableshaker in a series of tweets tagged their loss as the ‘Buhari Effect’.

He wrote: “Buhari has done it again for Morocco!#TableShaker.

“Buhari Effect: Morocco loses to France after Buhari’s congratulations!”

“When Buhari congratulates you, it means your enemies want to frustrate you. Tinubu, take note!
