Sen Kalu sympathizes with owners and staff of destroyed radio stations in Abia

Senator representing Abia North senatorial zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has sympathized with owners and staff of three radio stations in Abia state recently razed by fire

The tragic event, which occurred in the late hours of Saturday , led to the destruction of properties, including vehicles and buildings

In a statement issued from Kalu’s media office on Sunday, Senator Kalu described the inferno as unfortunate, even as he commiserated with the affected.

He said: “My heart goes out to those impacted by the inferno. We stand with you in this difficult time.

“It is unfortunate that property worth millions of naira were destroyed, but we take solace in the fact that no lives were lost.”

It was learnt that the fire incident reduced electronic broadcasting equipment worth millions to ashes.

The affected stations—Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM—were all located off Margret Avenue, on the PZ axis of the Aba-Owerri Road in Aba North local government area.

The former Governor while extending sympathy to the state government, also urged the government to investigate the fire outbreak to ascertain the real cause of the incident.
