Daddy Hezekiah (born October 11) is a renowned Nigerian Christian clergy and philanthropist, – an anointed prophet by calling – he is the founder and leader, Living Christ Mission Inc., and Chancellor, Hezekiah University, Umudi, Nigeria.

He is in his 70s and will be celebrating his 53rd birthday in the Lord this year, October. He has neither been involved with a woman nor ever married, and does not intend to marry. Daddy Hezekiah is the builder of two magnificent temples at the headquarters of Living Christ Mission Inc., both with capacities of 75,000 (Onitsha, Anambra State) and 55,000 (Nkwerre, Imo State), respectively.

 

Daddy Hezekiah believes in fairness, justices, mercy, salvation, holiness, righteousness and has gone on to live and preach same. He is a distinguished Nigerian with an unprecedented record of selfless philanthropic service to humanity in Nigeria and beyond, and is highly dedicated in His service to God and humanity.

He trained hundreds of people through his scholarship scheme at various academic and vocational levels including bachelors, master, PhD and professorship respectively. A firm believer in female education, he promotes same through his scholarship scheme in which many females have benefited (as well as men) and are still benefiting to date.

 

He habitually pays the bills of the less privileged, widows, orphans and special citizens/physically challenged (disabled people). He donated $30, 000 (USD) to the government and people of United States of America towards rebuilding the World Trade Centre in New York, assisting the victims of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack, and /or for any other useful purpose. He also donated the sum of $20, 000 (USD) to the government and people of Israel towards assisting the refugees who run to Israel from Southern Lebanon and/or for any other useful purpose. In 1997, Daddy Hezekiah rebuilt a central mosque razed during an intertribal clash, for Muslims in Onitsha, Anambra State. He also built singlehanded the first and only private university in Imo State, Hezekiah University, which has the lowest tuition fees amongst all private universities in Nigeria.

EARLY LIFE

Daddy Hezekiah was born to His Worship, Nze Obadiah Amadi Onukogu and Madam Mary Onukogu in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria. His father, a Nigerian Chief Superintendent of Police who was trained in England, attended the Wakefield College and went on to become a magistrate. He attended the Township Primary School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, St. Paul’s Central School Nkwerre, Imo State and St Augustine’s Grammar School, Nkwerre, Imo State. He subsequently proceeded to the University of Zambia, Lusaka for his BSc. in Industrial Chemistry.During his childhood and youth years, he was noted for being hardworking and intelligent, academically and otherwise. Daddy Hezekiah attended the University of Zambia, Lusaka, and was the first foreigner to hold the post of Chairman of the Scripture Union for four years/ till his final year. He converted many students and lectures while there. His spiritual exploits were so gargantuan that it caught the attention of the then president of Zambia, President Kenneth Kaunda, who invited him to pray for him, his cabinet and entire country, in November of 1979.

CAREER

Upon his return from Zambia in 1980, he did the stipulated National Youth Service with the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) whereupon he was posted to Inland Girls’ Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State, where he was engaged as a Mathematics teacher. He was retained by the State’s Ministry of Education after his Youth Service.

He later taught at the Nkwelle-Ezunaka Girls’ Secondary School and Umeleri High School (Technical), Umuleri, Anambra State. He rose to the level of Vice Principal Academics in 1987, before his voluntary retirement in 2003 to enable him concentrate on his ministerial works.

Daddy Hezekiah has a number of limited liability companies, the proceeds of which enable him carry out church projects and various philanthropic works, hence there is no levy in his church – Living Christ Mission. His companies are also a source of employment for many.

SERVICE TO GOD AND HUMANITY, AND PHILANTHROPY

Scholarship scheme:

Daddy Hezekiah has been and still is the ticket out of illiteracy for thousands of people through his scholarship scheme. His scholarship scheme covers all the various levels of education – nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary education inclusive of post graduate and vocational studies. Through his scholarship scheme he has raised doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, engineers, caterers, educationalists and a host of others.

He also gave a N50,000,000 (fifty million naira) scholarship to the first 500 (five hundred) pioneer students at his university – Hezekiah University. The 2016/2017 academic session students also enjoyed a N65,000 (sixty-five thousand naira) scholarship each, at his university.

 

International Aids:

Local Aids and support of Government/other denomination projects:

Daddy Hezekiah has made several cash and kind donations towards the advancement of education, support for governmental projects and to denominations, orphanages/motherless babies’ homes, the payment of hospital bills, building of houses for the destitute and sponsoring the burials of some whom their families are too poor to bury, etc. such donations include a donation of N300,000 to the Inland Girls’ Secondary School in Onitsha, Anambra State towards the construction of a science block, in September of 1995. In 1997, he donated thousands of naira to the Roman Catholic Charismatic Movement towards the purchase of a bus. InDecember 2000, he donated the sum of N550,000 to the Imo State Broadcasting Corporation. In February 2002, He donated a 150 KVA capacity generator to the Student Christian Movement (SCM), Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, Imo State, for fellowships and crusades. On April 14, 2005, he donated a N3.5 million ICT Centre to the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Anambra chapter of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. In 2005, he made a donation of N50,000 to the Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Onitsha, for the purchase of building materials to rehabilitate the dilapidated structures in the school and a set of sophisticated computer. He further donated, in the same year, the sum of N20,000,000 (twenty million naira, equivalent to £80,000 then) to the African States University of Science and Technology (ASUTECH), as well as other donations to other academic institution.
