The registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has announced a new date for the conduct of the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement issued by the Board, the registrar said the decision, was the outcome of a two-day stakeholders’ meeting the board had in Abuja.

He said stakeholders recommended that a two-week extension be granted to candidates who had not been able to register as a result of some challenges associated with the National Identification Number and others.

The JAMB boss, who also announced the extension of the registration of candidates for the 2021 UTME and Direct Entry (DE), said the exam will start from June 19 and end on July 3.

He also said the mock exam will take place on May 29, 2021, while the registration which was supposed to end on Saturday (today) had been extended by two weeks.

The exam was earlier scheduled to hold from Saturday, 5th to Saturday, 19th June, 2021.

JAMB had on Friday said over 600,000 potential candidates were unable to register for the exam following issues with the mandatory use of National Identification Number.

“We have agreed that a two-week extension be granted to candidates who have not been able to register as a result of some challenges associated with the National Identification Number, NIN, and others” he said.
