The secretary to the group Igbo-presidency Push Bernard Francis has through a statement sent to newsmen, blasted Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his declaration for the 2023 presidential election to be disappointing.
According to the group, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is the APC national leader did not exhibit through leadership by making himself available for the Job in 2023 owing to the facts that the 2023 general elections is expected to border on the unity and the drive for economic stability for the nation.
The statement read;
“With due respect to what we knew Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whatever advice he may had been given nor advised himself that led to his interest to be president in the 2023 election, his yield to such advice has changed the mentality of public space, towards him. He is perceived to be a leader that places his self interest above national unity.
“Igbo presidency for 2023 is not basically hanging on marginalization of the political region of the country, it’s also an “International Litmus Test” to knowing the thoughts of other regions of the country, if there are no qualified person’s from the southeast region that can be rallied around to lead the nation, focused on economy, in their economic endowments, having the economy to be the basic reasons for every other societal evils that is bedeviling our nation Nigeria. To neglect the southeast of their uniqueness means some Nigerian leaders are not prepared for that change we’re searching for.
“Why are the Igbo’s (Southeast) always the rejected stones undermining the facts that definitely, they could be the chief Conner stones?
“Undermining the facts that King makers are not often distinguished to be Kings, the move by the APC party national leader Amed Bola Tinubu, to run for President 2023, could create the turbulence that may waver the APC from the center, at the end of the 2023 general elections.
“Semantically, this repulse which is connected with the party national leader, who is not generally accepted for the job, the APC stands the chances of giving away power to opposition parties for their miscalculations, misadvised, misconstrued of an execution that could mar the built cohesion.
– “The Southeast would rather prefer to join forces with any political party that would present a reasonable Presidential candidates, than to see Tinubu win the 2023 election, should he scale through the primaries of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“There’s no doubt the Lagos noble man, Bola Tinubu, in his contributions to the APC project, haven contributed to the party stability as a leader, his declaration to run for the Nigeria President, as differ it is in the public search for a branded presidential candidates for a proposed New Nigeria come 2023, as resolved by most Nigerian youths, ready to set aright a leading path for the nation has in a way, turned down public notions on why he had supported the APC in the past for his personal ambition.
“It was expected that Amad Bola Tinubu would had helped in the agitations of the public, especially the youths, to find their feet on achieving the choice of a president for the 2023 race and not making himself available, against this age brackets of political classes that are dynamic and smart in thinking, broadened in knowledge and full of wisdom to mount the affairs of our nation Nigeria, democratically and not a president that would make himself at the expense of national unity.
“The All Progressive Congress (APC ) shouldn’t be caught with the sentiment of making Tinubu president because of his involvement with his Party against national unity. With his declaration, it’s obvious that the APC could sentimentally will the presidency to him at the end of the primaries as their candidate for the 2023 Presidential election.
“We totally on this account, disagree with such move and invariably, we would wait for other political parties such as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as exposed through one on their chieftain Bode George that every reasonable Nigerian works with the knowledge of the division of the nation into six geopolitical zones by our earlier compatriots, in which their political party the PDP would make a choice of their presidential candidate, in line with fairness and equity to these six geopolitical regions.
“Fore mostly, the 2023 election is expected by all Nigerians to be a unifying election. An election that is expected to bring onboard those regions that had always felt cheated in the sovereignty we share, of regions, tribes and religions. Haven had President Olushegun Obasanjo (Yoruba) from the south west in our early democracy 1999, it was expected that Tinubu would had in his wisdom paved ways for other tribes from the southeast (Igbo’s ) to contribute to our acclaimed united Nigeria.
“The Presidential election in 2023, as highly decisive it is, is expected to deepen the unity of the reasons why we are united across tribes, religion, tongue and culture.
“It’s expected that Tinubu should retain his glory by what he does than be turned down by Nigerians at the end of the 2023 election. No sincere Nigerian would overlook the future for selfish persuasions. May God Lead Our Leaders Aright.” The statement concluded.
