Commissioner for water resources in Kogi state Abdulmumin Danga accused of rape has indicated that he will not step down. The commissioner in March, was accused of raping and assaulting a beauty queen, Elizabeth Oyeniyi.

This revelation was made via her Facebook page. She said the commissioner sent some thugs after her and allegedly raped her at a hotel after she mentioned to him via Facebook to send palliative to his family members. 

Mr Danga has been invited by the Inspector-General of Police but was released on bail and asked to return for a later date for more questioning.

Kingsley Fanwo, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication in response to Danga’s refusal to step down, He said

“His being in office will have no impact on the integrity of the investigations. We trust the police to do a thorough job. But you will agree with me that it will be unfair to punish anyone who has not been found guilty.”
