Presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu has promised Nigerians improved electricity and free education up to the university level if elected into office.
Mr Tinubu who plans to build on the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari, says past promises by Nigeria’s leaders to improve electricity supply have failed.
“We feel your anger when you are angry. I don’t blame you. The promises of the past have failed to realise that we build the future from the onset. From the kindergarten.
“We cannot continue with excuses on NEPA failure. No nation can make a rapid development without electricity.”
Mr Tinubu said it was unfair for anyone to call Nigerian youths ‘lazy’, without first giving them the tools to succeed. “You cannot give us erratic electricity that is undependable and then blame us that we are lazy.”
Confident that he was going to fix the power problem, Mr Tinubu said “We have enough gas to fire up our electricity, we can supply the rest of Europe with gas, and we can make money from it.”
Mr Tinubu also said that the free WAEC payment that secondary school students were enjoying in Lagos, was a testament to his ability to make education free up to tertiary institution level.
“Some of you will not have been able to sit for WAEC if not for the payment of WAEC fee by our government.
“You were a beneficiary, clap for that, and you must vote. If you vote for that you can create the power for free education in the university level,” Mr Tinubu added.
