Amaka Obi
The All Progressives Congress has disqualified the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Chris Ogiemwonyi and Mathew Iduoriyekenwen. for contesting in the July 22 governorship primary election in Edo State.
The disqualification was announced by the screening committee in Abuja on Friday, while presenting its signed report to Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee.
It was stated by the Chairman of the panel Prof. Johnathan Ayuba that Obaseki was disqualified because the committee could not confirm the authenticity of the Higher School Certificate, as the document he produced only showed his attendance.
The Chairman, mentioned that the process was thorough and the unedited record of the process will be made available to the party.
