Abia Guber: APP’S Mascot Kalu Gets Support From Ariaria Market Traders

With two days left until the Governorship and state Assembly elections, Governorship candidate of the Action People’s Party (APP), Mascot Uzor Kalu has received the election assurances of the Ariaria International Market Traders , Aba.

Mascot, who embarked on a return campaign tour to the famous South Eastern Market on Wednesday to mop up his state wide canvassing exercise reeled out his plans to expand the market’s productivity and efficiency.

The frontline Abia Gubernatorial candidate identified the challenges faced by the market’s practitioners which include Power epilepsy, Lack of Indigenous productivity center, access to capital, infrastructure deficiency amongst others.

Explaining how he’ll tackle the challenges, Mascot highlighted the provision of alternative power supply, construction of Independent Power Station,Special Market Traders fund and so on, while giving his assurances that he’ll never renege on his promises if eventually elected into power.

Arriving to a rousing ovation in Ariaria, Mascot held an open rally as he visited the “Power Line” and the “Shoe Plaza”, the two major footwear markets in the commercial city of Aba.

Mascot Addressed the crowd on his plans to develop Abia;
“Ariaria Market deserves special attention because it contributes in no small measure to the IGR of our state, this is a market that serves not just Abia, but Nigeria and even West Africa. We will priotise this market to increase its productivity. My government will rejig the already existing “made-in-Aba ” project for optimal efficiency and productivity.

According to the former Abia state Chief of Staff and international business rated entrepreneur, instead of his government taking the shoemakers to China for training, the Chinese will be brought to Aba to train the people. He also assured the people that corrupt practices involved in the project, where the names of non-shoemakers are enlisted for travel, will be tackled if he is elected into office.

Speaking on behalf of the Traders Mr. Ralphmore Ekekwe “Holy Child” who represented the Market’s Chairman Elder Emeka Igara expressed optimism that Mascot would fulfill his campaign promises. Ralphmore citing his Manifesto said that Mascot would exploit the potentials of the market to make it more conducive and efficient to transact businesses.

According to him the Traders strongly believe in the Governorship hopeful’s capacity to develop the state emphasising that the Traders have decided to cast their votes in his favour in line with their commitment to electing a trader friendly governor in the 2023 election.
