Kuje Prison: Kalu set to change face of Church, Mosque

Chief Whip of the Senate and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Saturday promised to light up the church and Mosque in the Kuje correctional center at an estimated sum of N4.9 million 

Kalu who arrived the correctional centre at about 1pm , inspected the church and Mosque which has been without lights and promised to fix the worship centres for enhancement of worship as well as other daily activities of both the inmates and the staff.

According to a source close to Kalu , the lightening project  costs over 4.9 million naira and Kalu is willing to shoulder the bill.

Report has it that Kalu’s arrival erupted joy amongst both the inmates and staff, with many of them chanting “Kalu for President 2023” . Many of the imates hailed his continued welfare initiatives despite leaving the correctinal centre. 

Some of the staffs and inmates who spoke in annonimity, expressed their desire for the Senate Chief  become the next Nigerian President in 2023, regardless of any party . The excited inmates described Kalu as  true nationalist who carries the welfare of all Nigerians at heart.

Recall that , Senator Kalu spent six months incarcerated at the Kuje correctional centre , the Supreme Court had nullified the conviction of Kalu.

Justice Amina Augie who led a seven-man panel of Justices held that the trial Justice Mohammed Liman Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos acted without jurisdiction.
