At least one killed in the Obalende Lagos Fire outbreak

There was a fire outbreak at Obalende Lagos state and at least one killed. This fire occurred on Friday evening near Oando filing station when an NNPC tanker tipped over and burned into flames near the filling station. According to the NNPC statement, a fuel truck belonging to NNPC’s petroleum products retail affiliate, NNPC Retail Limited, was involved in a road accident while moving petrol.

Firemen arrived at the scene and tried to put out the fire from spreading to other buildings.

In a statement signed by NNPC spokesman, Kennie Obateru, the corporation is wishing all those that sustained injuries in the incident quick recovery as all injured persons have been rushed to a hospital while further investigation is on to determine the cause of the accident.

The NNPC also “expressed appreciation to the good-spirited people of Lagos around the scene of the incident and fire service personnel who brought the fire under control.”
