WHO declares Nigeria Polio free

The World Health Organisation, WHO, has announced Nigeria free of wild polio, after it completed its free status document and was accepted by the Africa Regional Certification Commission for polio eradication (ARCC). 

This disclosure was made via a tweet of the UN health agency official twitter account on Thursday.

“Today, Nigeria’s complete documentation for Wild Polio virus-free status was accepted by the Africa Regional Certification Commission for polio eradication (ARCC).

“It is a historic day for Nigeria, Africa, and the Global Polio Programme,’’ the tweet reads

Accolades was given to President Buahri, Aliko Dangote and Mr. Bill gates due to their financial and technological contributions.
