I remember shortly after the elections Senator Orji Kalu told me that within ten days that construction work would begin on the road and true to his word , work started on the ninth day. This has further shown that Senator Kalu is man of his words. We’ve had Senators even before him but none of them ever remembered us not until Senator Kalu.
That is why we the community residents in the entire six wards came to say thank you for the work that has commenced and to assure you that we shall always stand by you .
In his response Senator Kalu thanked the delegation for their visit, he however noted that the road project was his constitutional duty which needed no special appreciation. He said “I am doing what I was elected to do; it is my duty and I don’t need to be thanked . I am doing what I was doing when I was Governor. Coming to thank me is good; but it’s not compulsory or mandatory I am simply doing what I was elected to do. It is in our DNA in my family to render help and assistance whether or not we are in authority. I am at peace with our community and the locals . I thank ambassador Philips for his contribution to the community and the assistance he personally game live to me during elections . He has contributed immensely to our political life ; when givers give they receive. I am grateful for this.
