Chief Whip of the Senate and former Governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has commiserated with the family of late Ezeji Chief Israel Nnah Nwaokenneya of Isiahaba Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South local government area of Abia State.
Kalu who attended the funeral service held at St Augustine’s Catholic Church Ntigha Uzor was accompanied by his brother, former Chief of Staff to Abia State Government, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu ; Former Deputy Chief of Staff to Abia State Government , Dr Madukwe Ukaegbu ; Immediate Past Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Obinna Oriaku ; Member representing Arochukwu Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Mike Ukoha and Pastor Nelson Umezie
The funeral mass was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, Most Rev. Prof. Augustine Echema.
Also in the funeral mass were : former Chairman of defunct Diamond Bank, Dr Alex Otti ; Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Dr Uche Ogah ; Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, University of Calabar, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu ; Member representing Isialangwa North and Isiala Ngwa South in the House of Representatives , Hon. Darlington Nwokocha among others
Speaking during the mass, Kalu extolled the virtues of late Ezeji Nwokenneya. He said he has known late Nwokenneya for a very long time adding that he was a good man who did not live only for himself but for God and others.
While appreciating the Bishop and other officiating priests for their service to God and humanity , Kalu also made a cash donation of N500,000 for the church’s development.
