The Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ancient Kingdom, Ohafia Abia State, HRH Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha has commended the Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu for putting in place infrastructural development in and around Ohafia especially roads, saying the local government has enjoyed a cordial relationship with him since he was a governor.

The Royal Father also took a swipe at the state government for not being able to ease the burden of the people especially with the control of gully erosion sites propping up around the community.

In a chat with ABN TV on Saturday, Eze Ukoha said the community has resorted to self-help through development unions and age grades in ameliorating the effects of erosion in the area.

Praising Sen. Kalu for completing the reconstruction of Kpoke primary school and the road leading from Ebem to Okon, he said prior to Kalu’s ascension as the state governor, roads in the local government were in bad shape.

While stating that the communities where he touched during his tenure as Governor will not forget him in a hurry, Eze Ukoha added that the maintenance of the roads are effected by the senator.

He insisted that Ebem is erosion-prone.

He therefore called on the state government to assist the community in its efforts to control the effects of gully erosion.
