The leader of the All Progressive Congress is probably going through tough times now as the Economic and Financial Crime Commission deepens its probe into his wealth.
The Nigeria Daily had earlier reported that EFCC has requested Bola Tinubu’s asset declaration documents from the Code of Conduct Bureau as they further move to probe him.
If this move is successful, Bola Tinubu could be arrested and subsequently jailed.
Reports have it that two associates strategising for the former governor confirmed to them that Bola Tinubu had sent messages to President Buhari begging for mercy.
The source said that Tinubu wants this probe to stop as it is a move by his opponents to destabilize him before the 2023 general elections.
The associate said Tinubu begged President Buhari that if EFCC must probe him, then they should do it with a little compassion and above all with the fear of God.
