President Muhammadu Buhari’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina has submitted that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is getting weaker every day.

The presidential spokesperson added that while the fortunes of the PDP continue to decline, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is waxing stronger.

Adesina made the claim in an opinion article titled “Where did this Zulum emerge from?” in which he praised the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum for his giant developmental strides in his state, adding that people like him are the reason Nigerians continue to love APC.

“Ask me for one of the ‘poster boys’ for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and I’ll gladly show you Governor Zulum. It takes a heart dedicated to service to build roads, schools, hospitals, mass housing, and many others, that the President commissioned when he visited Borno. And the half has never yet been told.

The APC waxes stronger by the day. While the rival People’s Democratic Party (PDP) waxes weaker and weaker. A topic for another day, but with Governors like Zulum, I’ll put my money on the APC any day,” the presidential media aide declared.

Recall that in the year 2020 alone, two PDP governors have defected to the APC.

First, on May 20, Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade dumped the PDP while Bello Matawalle of Zamfara also officially defected on 29th June.

With Matawalle’s defection, APC now controls 22 states, the PDP has 13 governors while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) controls the 36th state.

Meanwhile, the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has described the defection of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State from the PDP to the ruling party as a welcome development.

In a statement on Thursday by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, Tinubu commended the Zamfara governor for making the right decision.

The APC chieftain welcomes Matawalle into the APC, adding that the move by the governor is the best way to ensure good governance in the state.

He urged Matawalle to cooperate with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that Zamfara benefits from the progressive policies of the ruling party.

The APC chieftain also noted that the doors of the APC are open to receiving as many who are interested in joining the ruling party.
