Sen. Orji Kalu, Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, continued the distribution of free educational materials to the people of his senatorial district on thursday. At Okamu Secondary School, Okamu Ohafia, Secondary Technical School Amangwu, Ndi-ibe Community School, Amuma Community Secondary School and Commercial Secondary School Ezi-Afor Ohafia, students, parents and teachers were highly elated as the distribution team of the Chief Whip of the Senate, arrived to hand out various educational materials comprising school bags, numerous textbooks for students from JSS 1 to SSS 3, notebooks and educational accessories.
The senator who was represented by his Legislative Aides, Barr Victor Etie and Barr Uma Uyi Nbila, informed the students and teachers that they were at the school to provide educational materials for every child, courtesy of Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, whose mantra is that every child must and deserves to have access to quality education. They also elaborated on the Senators’ conviction that good education holds the key to many things in life, including who you want to be, how you want your future to be, and how you want the system of the future to be.
They gave students and teachers the Senators’ assurances that he will remain committed to contributing his quota towards the actualization of quality education for every child in Abia North, and in Abia State in general.
The Principals of the various schools starting from Mrs Okwara Patricia of Okamu Secondary School, expressed utmost delight at the gesture of the Senator. She recalled during the time of Sen. Orji Kalu as Governor of Abia state, he had declared free education at all levels, while the salaries/emoluments of teachers were paid promptly. They prayed for God’s protection, and the success of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, describing him as God sent and God’s gift to Ndi Abia and Nigeria at large.
