I Didn’t Hold Any Private Meeting With Atiku – Lawan

The Senate President , Ahmed Lawan, has denied meeting with former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at his Abuja residence over the 2023 general elections.

Lawan, who spoke through his media office said the video circulating online was when he met the former Vice President at the residence of Katsina business mogul and Chairman of Max Air Limited, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangala whose mother, Hajiya Murja Mangala died on Friday, 28th January, 2021.

“The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and the Governor of Yobe State who is also the Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Mai Mala Buni on Saturday paid condolence visits to Katsina and Sokoto States.

“Their first port of call was the home of the Katsina business mogul and Chairman of Max Air Limited, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal whose mother, Hajiya Murja Mangal died on Friday.

“They were at Mangal’s house where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his entourage were already seated while the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari later joined them as they all offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the departed.

Thereafter, Lawan and Buni and their entourage stopped briefly to congratulate former Senator Abba Ali who was turbanned on Saturday as Turakin Katsina.

“From Katsina, Lawan and Buni proceeded to Sokoto to commiserate with the Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who lost his elder brother, Muhammadu Bello on Tuesday.

“The video circulating online that Lawan met with Atiku in Abuja is not true, It is totally not true. The Senate President is a committed party man just like President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
