Grammy: Wizkid Trends As Nigerians React To His Dual Loss

Nigerian superstar singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid, on Sunday, missed out on winning his first-ever independent Grammy Award.

The Starboy who bagged two nominations, lost both of them at the 64th Grammy Awards which held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3.

Wizkid was among the nominees for Best Global Music Performance category, for his song, Essence.

Made In Lagos earned the singer his second nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental Global Music recordings.

Sadly Big Wiz lost the Best Global Music Performance award to Arooj Aftab, while Angelique Kidjo, won the Best Global Music Album category for Mother Nature.

His loss comes as a big blow to fans and colleagues who were hopeful of him winning two awards. His name is now among top trends on Twitter nd Nigerians have taken to the platform to share their thoughts.
