Jigawa State Commissioner Dies At 60

Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Salisu Zakari (Chigarin Hadejia), has died, aged 60.

Zakari died on Saturday morning at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano, after a brief illness.

Until his death, late Zakari was a member of the Jigawa State Executive Council.

Before his appointment as Commisioner and member of the State Executive Council, the deceased was the chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board and one-time State Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a family source, funeral prayer for Zakari will take place on Saturday at the Emir’s Palace in Hadejia, Jigawa State by 11 o’clock this morning.

Meanwhile, in a condolence message, the governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has described Hon. Salisu Zakari as a gentleman who served Jigawa with all honesty and diligence.

He, therefore, prayed to Allah (SAW) to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdausi and also give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
