Harvest: Senator Kalu Makes Cash Donation To PCN Solid Rock Parish, Task Members On Farming

As the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Solid Rock Parish Umuahia, Abia State Holds its annual harvest and thanksgiving ceremony, the Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has commended the people of Abia North and people of the state in general for their efforts in reviving farming, saying it is worth emulating.

Sen. Kalu who watched the event live virtually applauded the quality of farm produce which the worshippers displayed during the harvest on Sunday.

The former Abia governor said the economy of the country can only grow when industrialisation is significantly boosted, which also includes agriculture.

While supporting the harvest with an undisclosed sum of money, Sen. Kalu assured that as the people’s representative, he would continue to support policy directions that will mitigate hunger in Abia and the country at large through increased farming activities.

In his remarks, the Minister in charge of Solid Rock Parish, Rev. Ezera Umeh expressed appreciation to Sen. Kalu for always identifying with the parish.

According to him, Sen. Kalu has consistently been supportive of policies and programmes of the church each time he is invited.

He said Sen. Kalu has been a man of action right from his days as the governor of Abia state where he demonstrated capacity which the people are still testifying to till date.

He prayed God to continue to grant Sen. Kalu’s heart desires and grant him overwhelming success in all he does especially as he seeks re-election to the Senate in 2023.
