President Donald Trump has threaten to permanently pull funding from the WHO and reconsider its membership. This comes shortly after the US savages the WHO and promises a pandemic review.

In a letter by the President written to WHO, Trump said

“It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the wold. The only way forward for the world Health Organization is if it an actually demonstrate independence from China.

“My administration has already started discussions with you on how to reform the organization. But action is needed quickly. we do not have time to waste”

“I cannot clearly allow American taxpayer dollars to continue to finance an organization that in its present state, is so clearly not serving America’s interests’

The letter evidently shows that President Trump has laid the blames on the pandemic spread on China and the WHO. Screenshots of the letter as seen on twitter showed series of accusations that the WHO did not pay attention to the warning signs of the virus.

Trump had earlier stated that “The US funds $400 million to $500million to the WHO each year, and China contributes roughly $40 million”.

“Had the WHO done its job to get medical experts into China to objectively assess the situation on ground and to call out China’s lack of transparency, the outbreak could have been contained at its source with little death”

WHO Director General Tedros responded then that it will continue to work with all nations to fight the pandemic and unity was its key.
