We Took Oath With Kolanut To Support Ikpeazu As Governor, Says Prof Ibe

A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Chancellor Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe has said Abia Charter of Equity must take its course come 2023, insisting that Abia North must produce the next governor of the state.

The don who spoke on Tuesday when he featured on OPEN PARLIAMENT in Family Love FM Umuahia monitored by ABN TV.

He said elders of Ukwa/Ngwa came to Abia North where an oath was taken with kolanut for the senatorial district to support Abia South to produce the governor in 2015 in the person of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

He accused the elders of being quiet on talks to produce the next governor of the state from Abia North.

Prof. Ibe expressed disappointment that while Igbo is agitating to be given opportunity to produce the next President, back home in Abia an agreement reached on rotation is about being flouted.

While insisting that equity and justice is the only way to ensure unity in Abia, Prof. Ibe said Abia North deserves to produce the next governor, adding that he dropped his gubernatorial ambition to support Ikpeazu.

He however expressed optimism that at the right time, rights steps will be taken to address injustice in power rotation in the state.
